Spec Email - Macy’s Sweater Event

Client

Macy’s is an American department store chain known for its fashion, beauty, fragrance, and home-furnishing products.

Challenge

Macy’s needed to market its upcoming Men’s Fall Sweater Event and encourage clients to visit their nearest Macy’s store over the weekend.

The male market is challenging because men don’t typically think of “fall” as an opportunity to refresh their wardrobes the way women might. They are more motivated by savings and convenience, although style is still important.

The brand needs a promotional email that effectively and concisely offers value to its male clients.

Solution

I collaborated with a graphic designer to create the promotional email. The headline is straightforward, with a “Limited Time Savings” value proposition to spark urgency.

The email's first sentence is a call to action: readers should take advantage of the 40% discount at their nearest Macy’s store ASAP. I immediately follow up by listing the specific luxury brands available at the sales event.

The email concisely communicates the necessary information to help maintain attention. I ensure that convenience, savings, and style are at the forefront of the Macy’s ad.
